The New Summer Beer Cooler | The Wall Street Journal

Stocking a summer cooler used to be simple. Dump light lagers into the icy depths, add seltzers and sodas, and call it a day at the beach. But today’s drinkers—and nondrinkers—have more diverse desires, encompassing hazy IPAs, dry ciders, canned cocktails, natural wines and alcohol-free everything. 

“It’s all about inclusivity and making sure you have something for everybody,” said Andrea Starr, senior director of merchandising for the Total Wine & More stores around the country. She’s one of the beverage experts we consulted for tips on curating the ideal summer cooler—and keeping it cold, too.
