I moved to New York City when I was 22, back in 2000, finding solitude in cold beers and a quiet rooftop. Then came 9/11, when I drank beer on the roof for a different reason, to blunt the pain of that painful day. Years later, I still drink beer on the roof, a personal moment of hopped-up Zen I retell in this Good Beer Hunting essay.
