WHAT: Staten Island Homebrew Tour
WHERE: All around Staten Island
DATE: Sunday, October 13, 12 p.m.
TICKETS: $60. Here is the link
NOTE: Only 35 tickets are available.
Today’s journey will start at Manhattan’s Staten Island Ferry terminal, where you'll board a boat and have cold beverages to keep you company on the 20-minute cruise to Staten Island. From there, you'll take a private bus to a trio of homebrewers' homes—yes, homes. Expect a basement nanobrewery where you'll drink Citra-hopped pale ales and raspberry Berliner weisses, while other homebrewers will serve plenty of IPAs, French farmhouse ales and more.
For the last stop? You'll visit Flagship Brewing for a private tour and one last pint, which is included in the ticket. Flagship is less than a 15-minute walk to the ferry terminal, and boats run every 30 minutes.
Your guide for this tour is the always excellent Brett Vanderbrook, a veteran Brooklyn homebrewer.
NOTE: Renting a bus is kind of, sort of, really expensive. Hence, the higher cost of the tour. But hey, have we ever let you down? This will be so worth it.
