The State of Beer in Columbus, Ohio | Columbus Monthly

When I moved to NYC as a 22-year-old, I discovered that the best way to learn about a town was to write about it, turning my curiosity into articles that led me all around the five boroughs.

I’ve been in Columbus, oh, just about seven months so far and I’ve started contributing features to Columbus Monthly to get me to explore and better understand the city by talking to so, so many folks.

First up: I spent the better part of January interviewing brewers and owners and visiting oh, 15 or 16 breweries including Columbus Brewing, Nocterra Brewing, Land-Grant, Seventh Son, Hoof Hearted, Jackie O’s and more to check on the current state and future o’ the proudly local beer scene that rarely distributes outside Ohio.

The result is this eight-page cover story for the magazine’s March issue. The story should give everyone a deep overview o’ the Columbus-area beer scene.
