Water, Water Everywhere: Profiling Kristen Atha | Columbus Monthly
Homes contain modern miracles that feel mundane. Electricity powers refrigerators, air conditioners cool rooms and clean water flows from faucets on demand. That few think twice about water’s safety, or abundance, can be credited to Columbus Water & Power, a nearly 1,450-person city department that delivers water and sewer services to 1.4 million customers and electricity to 19,600 customers. “We’re a social partner to the community,” says director Kristen Atha.
For Columbus Monthly, I profiled Atha and helped readers make sense of the past, present, and future of the region’s largest water utility.
