1) Sierra Nevada Flipside Red IPA: This riot of tropical fruit and citrus—thanks, Citra and Centennial—will have you rethinking just how good a red IPA can really be.
2) Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest: Referencing the California brewery’s roots in Paso Robles (Spanish for “Pass of The Oaks”), the easy-drinking fall seasonal—just bottled for the first time—offers hints of honey and an appealing bitter zap.
3) Hardywood The Great Return: One of the highlights from my recent trip to Richmond, Virginia, was this resinous West Coast–style IPA. It's grapefruit-y as all get-out.
4) Oskar Blues Old Chub Nitro: Life's a gas (see what I did there?) for these Coloradans, who became the first craft brewery to can a nitro beer. Old Chub is a malty milkshake of awesome.
